So you cover your existing litter box with this by first setting the rectangular support board on top and then draping the fabric cover over it. Very simple to set up.
I saw all three designs up close at a pet product expo. I think it is an ingenious concept and definitely one of those things you get to talk about when people see it in your house. I helped someone pick one out as a gift and we decided on the earth toned surf shack as it would match the decor of her brothers living room.
The thing that was really surprising was the quality of the fabric and construction. I can't say I have actually washed one several times yet to see how the printed fabric holds up but I'm confident they will last for many years. I have a lot of experience with sewing and garment construction and this is expensive fabric and quality printing. Even the label was the expensive woven type.
It's always more fun to buy presents for people's pets and they tend to enjoy them more, and this is perfect for anyone who has a cat. It comes flat, the size of the top, with the fabric cover folded around the support board. Easy to wrap it and stick a bow on it.

(More customer reviews)I found this cabinet to be very easy to assemble, and it looks great (compared to a stinky old litter box!). There's room for a medium-sized litter pan with a tall litter-guard underneath; you'll need to measure carefully and make sure there's enough headroom if you want to use something fancy. The drawer holds accessories for litter cleaning, but can only be opened if the main doors are open, so using it for non-litter box items isn't convenient. Two of my three cats have taken to it with no fuss, but my very large Norwegian Forest Cat doesn't like being in the confined space so it's taking longer for him to adapt. So far (it's been a week) my cats are still entering the cabinet from the front, so I'm leaving one door ajar. Hopefully all three will use the side entrance once they've become used to the cabinet.
The only reason I've given four stars instead of five is because I wish there were an option to have the side entrance on the other side. I've had to redecorate to accommodate the right-sided opening - it would have been much more convenient with the entrance on the left side. And it would have been nice if there were rollers to roll the litter pan in and out as another reviewer mentions.

Merry Pet Products Pet House, Litterbox Cover and Night Stand, Walnut, 20.5" D x 19" W x 25"H Review

(More customer reviews)I've ordered this item 3 times now. The first couple of times, I received a box which said that the color of the unit was walnut, but the product inside looks nothing like the picture. The color is way, way closer to the espresso version. Much darker than the picture.
I called Amazon, and they said that they would go manually inspect the remaining units to figure out what was going on and correct the problem. They said that the item would be marked as "under review" on the site, and that a week or two later it would go back to purchasable, at which point I should buy it again. I did. It was "almost-espresso" again. I gave up and put it together. I've had it for a few days now.
Once assembled, it seems ok--during construction, the materials felt sort of cheap, even for particle board / composite furniture, so don't tighten anything too tight when you're putting it together. I would also recommend using a hooded cat-box inside, as some other reviewers have mentioned that cat spray produces warped, ruined (and smelly) particle board if you don't know it's there and leave it sitting for too long. The assembled size surprised me: it's a bit big for a nightstand (but close enough), and the fact that it's deeper than it is wide makes it look kind of funny as a nightstand, at least to me. But again, it's close enough.
Given that I can't find another product which is quite like this one (I'm not interested in a faux-potted-plant cat-box), it seems worth it so far. However, if I were to do it over again and found a competitor with a similar product, I would definitely take a look.

ok, so they are expensive, but after trying every little box know to human kind, this was the last resort ... getting the kitties adjusted to a new environment has been quite a challenge! with that said, I am so happy to say that the investment paid off and paid off immediately! as soon as i set it up downstairs, macho and lover investigated and quickly began do "do their business". even lover's chunky and finiky butt fit inside and macho has enough room to do his litter dance ;-) we didn't even have to show them that there was another hidden litter box upstairs ... they found it all on their own, yay! i mean ... h e l l o ... w o n d e r f u l ... we couldn't be happier!!!!
as to a few reviewers saying that the plastic is thin and top is hard to get on ... it's a kitty litter box, ya know ... and all nice things should be handled with care ... i had no problems setting it up twice [i bought 2] ... and as for the plant on top, just search for the inner florist in you and all will be well! the plant looks just like a peace palm ... so stylee!

so, tell one ... tell all that this is the best litter box on the planet for all kitties even the finiky ones!

Merry Products Cat Washroom Bench, White Review

(More customer reviews)this is the way to do it. It took my husband and I (you definitely need two people) about 45 minutes to put together. It is well made and looks very nice. FYI it is bright white in color. You would never know it held a litterbox. I did not install the divider as I wanted to put the "ultimate litterbox" in it. If you have this litterbox it will fit side to side perfectly but space will not allow the divider. Without the divider for support I would not recommend using it as a bench to sit on. I believe the weight of a person might cause damage. I lined mine with plastic shelf paper and then use old towels in front of the litter box to attract stray litter off the kitties feet. My kittens are four months old and immediately took to this unit. I have had it about three weeks and have no complaints. I did not purchase this from amazon but from the CSN site as I had a discount 20% off coupon and free shipping from them directly.

I have put together dozens of pieces of furniture before, but this cat washroom was one of the best designed and highest quality pieces of furniture, in the do-it-yourself assembly category. The materials are well made, all the pieces fit perfectly, the door aligns great to close properly (usually a nightmare with self-assembly products). Not to mention that my cats adjusted in no time to it, having never used an enclosed litter box before. It has amazing head room for them, they can turn around completely inside, cover everything and leave no litter tracks outside. I have a 16 pound cat and he fits just fine. My cats appear to prefer this box since it's provides privacy. Reduces odor by 90+% too. They knock litter around inside the cabinet, and it gets a little messsy, but it beats it being all over your floor. Excellent product. A cat lover must have invented this.
