Item arrived on time, was extremely scratched and did not appear to be new, weighed only 5 lbs. Called UPS to verify cost to ship-estimated under $12. Played phone tag with the customer service department, finally reached after one week. Refunded 30% of the item cost since it was scratched and $20 in shipping charges for the "overcharge" with weight. I expected the item to be extremely durable with a description of 33 lbs but is an extremely flimsy metal. Will work for now.

We are also happy because it serves our purpose at a much more affordable price than any of the others that we could find in a similar size. The rats are active at night and the cage can become a bit noisy with a rattling sound. Especially when they are running on their wheel which is mounted on the side of the cage. It is a good thing that the kids are hard sleepers. I also like to be able to slide the tray out to clean it. Much easier than the aquarium that we had.

(More customer reviews)This product has been great. The price is about half similar sized crates you can find at a pet store. The only difference is the metal is a little thinner but if your dog is not aggressive, it should be fine. Also, their is only one side door, doesn't have the 2 door options that higher priced crates have, BUT that didn't matter in our case. This door was actually larger and our puppy found it easier to go in and out. For the price, it's a great product.

(More customer reviews)My daughter picked out this cage for her 2 dwarf hamsters. The second night she had them, one of the hamsters managed to get her head between the bars by the clip on the door. Although the bars in most of the cage are close enough together to be safe, there is a space beside the clip on each of the doors where a dwarf hamster can get her head out. The hamster died. We have since taped up the area around the clip to prevent the second hamster from doing the same. The other hamster seems to be enjoying the cage, but she misses her sister! (Also the wheel is very noisy-- you'll want to buy the Silent Spinner or other quieter wheel.)

I felt the listing was misleading, and this terrarium is too small for what I need it for, however, it is too big and heavy for me to to afford to ship it back. It just wouldn't be worth it. So I'll still have to get a larger terrarium and just eat the cost of this one. The product's nice, but its not what I wanted or thought I was getting.

(More customer reviews)I volunteer with an animal rescue group and take care of cats. Thought this item would be good to use while cleaning the cages but it didn't work out that way. The material if very thin and the front closure tore within 10 minutes of one cat being in it. The cat had gotten it's claws caught in the screen. Impossible to take down and place back into the carrier. The item is not that expensive but it is not worth the money. Not sure what I am going to do with the thing....not worth paying the shipping to send it back the manufacturer. Would be willing to pay for the more expensive playpens. You get what you pay for.

(More customer reviews)Bought this for $179.99 here on Amazon. Not an hour later, my ferret suddenly died. Because it was after the 30 minute window, Amazon could not cancel the order for me. Contacted PetCo SIX TIMES. Each time they swear they cancelled the order, and each time I attempt to explain to them that they did something wrong, as it still shows as not cancelled on amazon. Because I paid with a gift card, they're holding my gift card hostage until it either arrives, or for 13 days from purchase until I can file an Amazon A to Z claim. I've sent screenshots, copy/pasted exactly what it says, and even spelled out word for word that clearly there's a bug in their system where when they cancel an order, it only cancels it in their PetCo system, and not on Amazon itself. No one will listen to me, I just get repeated emails back that say, "We really apologize for the inconvenience you had with this cancelled order, however we advise you to contact Amazon about the gift card refund." - Yeah. I contacted Amazon THREE times, they say that you HAVE NOT CANCELLED THE ORDER, and that until you do, I can't be refunded, because they have no way to cancel the order FOR you. HUGE hassle for a way overpriced item they've now jacked the price up on. NEVER EVER BUY FROM PETCO!

(More customer reviews)I love the crate. It is exactly what I wanted, and really sturdy and nicely constructed. I'd be surprised if you can find anything much nicer - no matter how much you pay for it. The fact that this crate is inexpensive only adds to its appeal!
My husband and I set it up together (no tools needed) in a half-hour, and it looks nice in our family room. I really like that the two plastic shelves have wire trays underneath them for extra support and security, although they do make a loud sound when the cat jumps on them. I love the drop-pin locks on the doors, which are so easy to use. From the picture, I thought this crate was white, and so anyone considering it should be aware that the cage itself is metal (silver), with off-white trays. I will post a picture that makes the color more apparent.
I work in animal rescue and have used a lot of different kinds of cat crates; this is a perfect choice for someone who is looking for a stationary crate, either in their home or a store, that will be set up and remain set up (which is how I am using it). It would not be a good portable crate because it is heavy and has small parts. It does have wheels on the bottom, though, so it is easy to move around a room once set up.
I would buy this crate again in a heartbeat. It was exactly what I wanted, and at this price, it's truly a steal. I have absolutely no reservations in recommending this HIGHLY!!!
