(More customer reviews)I needed this product because three basement lights were all pull-strings, and my kids could not reach them to turn them on and off. Because I put a playroom downstairs, I wanted to give them a little bit more independence. I purchased three of this product because product description said that you could put multiple lights on one frequency. Very innovative!
When I received the product, the installation was a snap. We chose to use the sticky pads instead of the screws. We have found that because of the wireless aspect, the lights down always turn on and off when you click them. They are a bit touchy. Also, they have to be mounted in a place with a clear view to the light fixture (i.e. not around the corner) or this increases the touchiness. This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. Otherwise, I (and my children) are perfectly happy with them.

HEARTLAND 21000 Dryer Vent Closure Review

(More customer reviews)I cannot say enough good things about this product. Both I, and my brother-in-law, have had this vent closure installed on our homes for several years with no complaints whatsoever. I find it hard to believe some of the things said by two other reviewers.
One says the vent makes a mess - uh, DUH! Your dryer is making the mess, not the vent closure. Your dryer's filter screen lets a lot escape, and so it exits the vent closure as it should! If it didn't escape it would clog the vent and cause a dryer fire as air flow is strangled causing temperature to rise in the line.
Another reviewer wrote a book about his brick problems, even complaining about having to use caulking. He also said it HAD to be painted to prevent ultra violet light damage. Well, if caulk is a problem then let it leak air. The heat loss will equal the cost of a case of caulk in short order, but that is the alternative. As for HAVING to paint it, nothing could be further from the truth! Mine, and my brother-in-law's, have been unpainted for many years now with no signs of brittleness yet. But, if you want to paint it, that should take a whopping 15 minutes. Geez, a complainer in every crowd, I guess!
My vent closure has eliminated cold air from entering the laundry room! Opening our dryer door used to feel like opening a freezer door. Our feet would turn to ice in that room until I installed this vent closure!! And the floating cup, despite lint build-up, has maintained a tight air, bug & rodent-proof seal when the dryer is not running. It cleans easily if you have even the slightest mechanical skills.
In my opinion, this product will pay for itself in home heating and cooling costs in less than one season while keeping out rodents and insects. Don't let the naysayers seize the day!!!

(More customer reviews)The need to have our entire home networked is at an all time high and while wireless works, it is not great. The best way is still copper wiring throughout the home (if possible). Naturally we want our wiring done properly and we want it to look as nice as possible at its end point. That is where this patch panel comes into play.
Simply put it has 12 CAT 5e ports which will support Cat 6 cabling as well. The back is color coded to match the standard wiring colors that are found in all cat x cabling (blue, bluewhite etc). The box has the patch panel, screws for mounting, and a small plastic punch tool.
If I had any advice to give - get someone to lend you a PUNCH down tool so you can terminate your wires with ease. The plastic tool included works...but a proper punch down tool would give you a better termination and thus less headaches.

The panel is made to fit in a Leviton Structured Media Center enclosure, if you have one....if not you can simply mount it to a wall. It comes with two rows of 6 cat 5e jacks and has two empty rows towards the right for adding more cat5e jacks, telephone jacks...etc...

The door option is a little pricey. Or you can just put tape over the connector to keep out the wasps and spiders and such. This unit sits behind some bushes, but if it were out in the open, I would probably paint the thing to have it blend in with the house. It is big, but it has to be to have enough room for the large guage wires to be connected.

The outlet box is made of metal but has only 18 cu" of room for wire and outlet - The National Electrical Code only allows one wire and one device in this size box. As stated - this device is designed to fit in the bottom of structural data panels - if you measure the KO hole and go shopping you can buy the parts to complete this same application for less money. If you are not familiar with electrical boxes, outlets and covers you should probably buy this item and play it safe. The outlet works extremely well for what it is designed to do. I hope this review helps.
