It is what it is. I had no problems installing it. It would have been great if the item came with a door already attached, but you can always buy it if you think you need it. The door option is a little pricey. Or you can just put tape over the connector to keep out the wasps and spiders and such. This unit sits behind some bushes, but if it were out in the open, I would probably paint the thing to have it blend in with the house. It is big, but it has to be to have enough room for the large guage wires to be connected.
