I would definitely prefer more elbow room--luckily I'm thin!--but it's very sturdy and attractive. I got one of anchors in a stud and one is in with the drywall screws, and it seems nice and solid. Of course it *can* rock back and forth since there are only the two points of contact, but you would have to be pretty abusive for that to be a problem, I think. Well made, good deal, not for the extremely large-boned....

(More customer reviews)I've been to many hotels that now incorporate the "bowed" shower rod in their baths. I enjoy the extra space and feel of luxury they give.
There is the typical round rod design that many use and at a couple of them, they used the ARC rod.
I was nearly sure I wanted the round type, due to the ARC being "insubstantial" and wobbly at one hotel in which I stayed.
When I got down to placing the order however, I switched my mind for a couple reasons. Firstly, I realized the abuse that the hotel items are subject to. Little ones dangling off the curtains, guys probably trying to do chin ups off them. All the idiocy that people do when something isn't their own.
The other factor that led me to the ARC is installation. With the round type of curtain rod you need to trim off of both ends to ensure the 'curve' is properly placed, should you need to shorten the rod. With the ARC, if you need to shorten it (for a shorter tub or to reduce the amount of "bow" extending into your bathroom) one only needs to trim one end. It seems like a small point, but one I considered.
The item arrived while I was at my mothers and I quickly installed it. NOTE: If you have ceramic tiles or similar type materials you'll need to pick up a masonry drill bit. Installation was quick (give yourself 1/2 hr or so) It is VERY solid and I believe the hookless shower curtains operate more smoothly than on the typical round design bar. If only I owned instead of rented, I'd have an ARC shower rod in my place in a heartbeat!

Moen CSR2165CH CSI Curved Shower Rod, Chrome Review

(More customer reviews)Although the bar looks lovely if/when you are able to get it installed, the included hardware does NOT work as it should. The directions say to drill a 1/4" hole for drywall installation, so we did. We then inserted the metal drywall anchors that were included. The screws do NOT fit securely in the anchors! They just slip right out. When we tried a larger screw, the anchor fell right through the wall, creating a huge hole. We now have to repair the wall, move the bar over a few inches, and start all over.
If you buy this product, we recommend you use your own regular PLASTIC drywall anchors and coordinating screws.

Moen DN2160CH Inspirations Curved Shower Rod, Chrome Review

(More customer reviews)This rod is much harder to install than the video on Moen's website would lead you to believe. I may not be the finest home DIY person, but this was not a good time. Additionally, I was disappointed to discover that the flanges on each end (used to attach the rod to the walls) are made of cheap plastic. Given that "Creative Specialists" and the Inspiration line are supposed to be Moen's upscale line, they should have used metal flanges. If you are not attaching the rod to sheetrock, be forewarned the installation kit does not include the pieces you need for tile (another trip to Lowe's) or into studs. They could have thrown in a couple of wood screws. One last note: the rods with the "DN" prefix are the retail version. The rods which have part numbers beginning with "CRS" are contactor grade. The retail DN models use a better grade of metal than the lower cost contractor's version.
It looks great and is reasonably well made (except for the cheapo flanges), but have someone else do the installation.

(More customer reviews)Update: Had this for almost a year; my review below is still our opinion. We are now purchasing this for our guest bathroom.
We've only been using this unit for a short time, but so far so good. Here are our observations:
1. Although it looks metallic ... this baby is 100% plastic. So we'll see how long it lasts.
2. Installation was a breeze. Instructions said "hand tighten" and so I did. Used teflon tape and have little to no leaks.
3. Ball joint to move around the unit works perfectly. On other units I have owned they were usually too tight; this one is perfect.
4. Switch to use just handheld or combo is placed well and works fine.
5. Water pressure is amazingly strong.
6. I tested the water volume and these were the results: 2 gal/min from Base unit, 2 gal / min from Handheld unit, 3.25 gal / min from combined Base and Handheld. And living in a drought prone area (central coast, CA) we want to conserve as much water as we can so we probably won't be using the combined feature.
7. Handheld unit on the "massage" setting really puts out pressure.
8. Handheld unit fits snugly into base unit. I can see how it might pop out, but this has not happened to us yet.

(More customer reviews)It was fairly easy to install, but required two people. The instructions were good. The hand held shower is very powerful with different settings. The main shower head is just OK. It doesn't feel as forceful as the hand held and the adjustment doesn't allow it to be rotated very far away from the front surface of the shower assembly. The body sprayers are also OK. Our previous one put out more of a jetted spary where this one is more of a force full mist/very fine spray.

Bath/Tub Epoxy Repair Kit Review

(More customer reviews)This is great epoxy, but you have to have everything out, and be quick about it; it hardens within about 2 minutes after you expose it to air. Don't be alarmed when it gets quite hot (I wasn't expecting that, even though the directions warned about it). It also helps to submerge the packet in warm water for a few minutes to soften it up before you mix the two compounds (the manual tells you to do that, too).
I used it to repair my tub about 6 weeks ago, and it's holding strong.

Elmer's E786 Tub & Shower Repair Kit Review

(More customer reviews)My child slipped in our fiberglass tub/shower enclosure and put a crack in the side of the tub portion. She was fine thankfully, but the size of the crack made her more upset than the fall itself! It was quite large and also uneven. I looked at professional repair - was too expensive and seemed silly for a tub over 15 yrs old. I would sure love a whole new enclosure, but just don't have the money right now.
I started looking at many DIY products and finally picked this one as it seemed the simplest to use. And, it was! The patching material was easy to apply (goes on similar to spackling paste) and filled the crack well despite the size and uneven edges. The repaired area does show, as my Lasco tub is more 'off-white' than true white or almond, so the colors the kit comes with didn't match exactly. That likely won't be an asset should I ever want to sell my home, but the tub is usable and that was the important part. Product cleans up easily and requires very little effort to use. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who needs to repair a tub or shower quickly and economically. Would've given five stars except for the color matching issue.
