I purchased this because I needed some external storage that I could just plug-in and remove from time to time, and one that works on eSATA and support up to 2TB!!! USB 3.0 is not mainstream yet, there's only a few mobo/laptops that have them, but not eSATA---they've been around for some years now and why only a few external storage enclosures have them is beyond me.
It works great and as advertised. The only caveat is it's kinda bit clunky (hence 4 stars) but hey it does what I need!!
What's in the package:
1) the enclosure
2) eSATA cable
3) USB cable
4) 100-240V auto-switching power supply (where I am it's 220VAC!)
5) some manuals
PROs:
1) eSATA works great. In theory USB2.0 is up to 480Mbps, eSATA, just like any other SATA II device = 3Gbps = 3000Mbps, so that's like 6x faster. I didn't do any software test throughputs tho, don't have the time to, sorry (but have the time to write dis review :-p)
2) 100-240V power supply
3) support up to 2TB --- that's what their spec said and it works. I have this w/ a 2TB WD EARS that I also purchased here on amazon.
4) enclosure has a fan beneath it to keep it cool
