(More customer reviews)This fan kit is designed for Channel Vision's structured wiring cabinet doors. It mounts with four provided screws to a recessed mounting point at the top or the bottom of the door (on the inside). It also comes with a wall wart. The cord on the fan is just about long enough to reach all the way down the door. The cord on the wall wart more than makes up the difference.
This "kit" also comes with four little tape dots that can be used to secure the fan wire within the wire channel along the inside of the door. They aren't very sticky, but seem to do the job. It also comes with two adhesive backed plastic shields that you are supposed to cover the remaining vent holes on the door on either side of the fan. Problem is, the adhesive isn't strong enough, and the shields just fall off.
The fan, being so small, does make some noise. And, I have yet to test to see what actual effect this has on the ambient temperature inside the enclosure. The jury is still out as to whether this is worth the cost...
